Free meta tag checker
Paste a URL and get a report on the title, description, Open Graph, Twitter card, canonical, robots, hreflang, and schema tags. No signup and no email.
What we check
Core tags: title and description presence, duplicates, length, and measured pixel width, the viewport and charset tags, the html lang attribute, the H1 count, and meta refresh.
Social tags: Open Graph and Twitter card tags, including image size, aspect ratio, weight, and alt text.
Indexing tags: robots meta, robots.txt, noindex conflicts with the sitemap, and canonical tags.
International and structured data: hreflang codes, URLs, and return links, plus JSON-LD parse errors, types, and expected properties.
How the check reads your page
The free check reads the raw HTML the server returns, which is what social scrapers see. It does not run JavaScript.
Meta tag checker questions
Do I need an account to use the meta tag checker?
No. The single-URL check needs no signup and no email.
Does the checker run JavaScript on my page?
The free check reads the raw HTML the server returns, which is what social scrapers see. It does not run JavaScript. Tags added only by client-side scripts will not appear in the report.
Are the length limits Google's rules?
No. Google publishes no pixel limits. Our thresholds are measured glyph widths at the desktop search result font, not Google limits, and they are versioned so you can see when they change.
What happens if my site blocks the checker?
Our site crawler respects robots.txt, and a single-URL check fetches only the page you give it. We never bypass bot protection. If your site blocks us, the report says so, and you can paste your page HTML instead.
